A Powerful, Flexible Interface Engine for Local & Cloud LLMs Mrigashira AI is a versatile and feature-rich interface engine designed to seamlessly connect users with both local LLM deployments and leading third-party AI providers. Built for privacy, customization, and productivity, Mrigashira AI optimizes local model performance while providing an enterprise-grade feature set for managing conversations, generation workflows, and data exports.
Mrigashira AI was inspired by a simple question: Should access to useful AI depend on having a continuous internet connection or paying for another monthly subscription?
As AI became increasingly powerful, I noticed that many people—especially those with limited connectivity, older hardware, or limited budgets—couldn't easily benefit from it. At the same time, relying entirely on cloud AI services raises concerns around privacy, data ownership, cost, and dependence on a small number of providers.
I wanted to build something that gives users more control. That became the idea behind Mrigashira AI: a free AI interface that can work with locally hosted models while also giving users the flexibility to connect to external AI providers when they choose.
The development process evolved significantly as I worked on it. I focused on making the application practical for everyday hardware, supporting local inference through solutions such as Ollama and LM Studio, while keeping the interface simple enough for non-technical users. I also added support for different AI providers, configurable AI parameters, voice interaction, document handling, and multiple ways to work with AI.
The goal was never just to build another chatbot. The goal was to make AI more accessible, affordable, private, and user-controlled.
I built and released Mrigashira AI as an independent project because I believe powerful AI should not be limited to people who can afford expensive subscriptions or have uninterrupted high-speed internet.
