Hi Product Hunt! I’m sharing MotifSmith, a browser-based tool for turning pictures, text and drawings into flat craft charts.
You can edit individual stitches, simplify the palette, preview the design as fabric in 3D and follow row-by-row counts while you make it. The same design can switch between crochet, filet crochet, knitting colorwork and fuse beads.
Standard image conversion runs on your device. There are separate optional features for AI image editing and phone-to-computer transfer.
Creating and following charts online is free without an account. PDF exports use credits, with limited free exports available when publishing designs to the gallery. It makes flat colorwork charts, rather than shaping instructions for garments or amigurumi.
