Moonlit Tales creates calm, personalized bedtime stories in Mandarin, English, or Japanese. Choose a nickname, age, theme, and story friend, then read or listen with gentle narration, background audio, reading controls, and a sleep timer. No ads.
Hi ProductHunt, I’m Charlex, the dad behind Moonlit Tales.
My daughter needed a more reliable way to settle down at bedtime. Our voices helped, but sometimes she also needed something steady and soothing to listen to. Music worked. Stories seemed even better. So I built Moonlit Tales for first-time parents like me who are still figuring sleep out.
It’s now part of both her nap and bedtime routines. During sleep regressions, I also use it when she wakes in the middle of the night and needs help settling again. There’s a Shortcut that plays her latest story and starts the last sleep timer with one tap. When I’m half awake in the middle of the night, that matters more than another settings screen.
The hardest product decision was balancing listening and looking. I decided Moonlit Tales should be an audio companion first. I’ve deliberately kept interaction to a minimum: create a story, press play, and put the phone down.
If you try it, tell me what worked and what got in the way. I also want to know whether the point where Moonlit Tales asks you to pay feels fair.
I’m still deciding what belongs next: more classic story collections, personalized storybooks, or keeping the product as small and focused as it is.
Thanks for taking a look.
