I built MonthlyLog because I didn’t want another finance app that I had to check every day. I only wanted to record my assets once a month, see the long-term trend, and leave a small note about what was happening in my life at that time. I also didn’t like the way many finance apps push goals like “Save $10,000.” Life is full of unexpected events, and when things don’t go according to plan, those goals can become another source of stress. I wanted something that simply helps me look back at what actually happened, without telling me what I should achieve. I also wanted to keep it simple and private, so there’s no bank connection, no sign-in, and no cloud. You enter the numbers yourself, and everything stays on your device. Over time, the app became less about “tracking money” and more about keeping a quiet monthly record of both assets and life.
