Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm JB, the maker of Momento Log.
The idea came from a personal frustration — I kept forgetting
memories tied to specific places. A conversation at a café,
a thought I had on a walk, something I noticed at a market.
By the time I returned, it was gone.
So I built Momento Log: save a memory at a location, and the
app quietly notifies you when you come back. No action needed —
it just works in the background.
A few things I'm proud of:
→ No account required. Everything stays on your device.
→ AI voice analysis — speak a memory, and it generates a title,
summary, and category automatically.
→ "On This Day" — every morning, relive memories from 1, 2, or
3 years ago at places you've been.
→ Backup & restore — export everything as a ZIP, restore anytime.
It's free to download with core features. Premium unlocks
unlimited memories and AI-powered tools.
I'd love to hear your feedback — especially from anyone who
travels often or has a spot they return to regularly.
What would make this more useful for you?
Thank you for checking it out 🙏
How does the location detection work without draining my battery all day, and does it run reliably in the background on both iOS and Android?
@elifnurkostak Momento Log uses iOS's built-in geofencing system, not continuous GPS. Your phone's location chip only activates briefly when you physically arrive at a saved place — the rest of the time, the app is essentially asleep. It's the same low-power technology Apple uses for "Remind me when I get home" features. Most users report no noticeable battery impact.
At the moment, the app is available only on iOS, where it runs reliably in the background. An Android version is coming soon as well.
Thanks for your question!
Love the no-account local-only approach, exactly how this kind of app should work. One thing I'd suggest is letting you attach a short voice clip directly when saving the memory instead of going through the voice analysis each time, so quick captures in the moment feel less fussy.
@sinansmekpcsd Hi! Thanks for your feedback.
The voice clip itself is actually recorded and saved as-is. AI is only used to quickly convert the speech into text, while the original recording remains unchanged.
I really appreciate your suggestion!
Curious how it handles places that aren't a single pinpoint, like a big park or a long stretch of beach where memories might overlap or trigger in awkward spots?
