I’m Quentin, an indie iOS engineer based in London, and I built Modraly.

Why I built this

Almost every alcohol-related app on the App Store is built around total sobriety: day counters that reset to zero if you slip, streak badges, 160-day coaching courses, and guilt-inducing red alerts.

But what if you still drink socially and simply want the numbers?

When I started paying attention to my own drinking, I realised how quickly a casual week reaches the official guidelines. Yet, I didn't want a rehab programme or a coach texting me. I just wanted a clean, honest dashboard: units, spend, and calories next to the official weekly health line for my country.

So I built Modraly around a simple principle: A drink tracker for people who drink, not for people who’ve quit.

How it’s different

Nothing resets: No streaks, no broken runs, no shame. A three-drink Friday is just data in your week, not a failed month.
Radical privacy: No account, no sign-up, and no Modraly backend server. Your drink log never leaves your device. The only item on our App Store privacy nutrition label is “Purchases (Not linked to you)”.
Your country’s actual units: Most apps collapse everything into US standard drinks or generic "glasses". Modraly localises for 14 countries: UK units (8 g), French verres standards (10 g), US standard drinks (14 g), Australia, Japan, Germany, and beyond.
