Misogi is the anti-resolution app. Instead of setting 47 goals you'll abandon by February, you pick ONE defining challenge for the entire year. Based on an ancient Japanese purification ritual, the Misogi philosophy is simple: focus beats fragmentation. When you commit to one powerful goal, every day moves you closer to something that actually matters. No AI. No premium tiers. No ads. Completely free. We built it because we needed it ourselves.

Hey everyone 👋
Every January, I'd write down a list of resolutions. Learn Spanish. Read 50 books. Exercise more. Eat better. Meditate daily.
By February, I'd forgotten most of them. Sound familiar?
That's why we built Misogi.
The name comes from an ancient Japanese purification ritual. The modern interpretation is simple: instead of spreading yourself thin across a dozen resolutions, you pick one bold, year-defining challenge.
Here's what Misogi does:
A 365-day contribution grid (like GitHub, but for your life goals)
12 activity types so you can track anything—running, writing, learning, creating
A small community for accountability without the endless scroll
What Misogi doesn't do:
No AI features
No premium tier
No ads
No selling your data
It's completely free. We built this because we wanted it for ourselves, and figured others might too.
Right now, it's just us and a handful of friends using it. We're not a funded startup with millions of users, we're a 2 person team who genuinely believes this approach works.
What's YOUR one thing for 2026?
Would love to hear what challenges people are considering. Happy to answer any questions about the app or the philosophy behind it.
