Minimum Order Guard protects Shopify margins by enforcing minimum order value and quantity rules for different customer groups. Merchants create MOV, MOQ, or combined rules by customer tag, show buyers live cart progress, and block under-threshold checkout with a Shopify Checkout Validation Function. It also supports first-order-only rules, custom messages, rule priority, and an analytics dashboard for every intercepted checkout.

Hi Product Hunt! We built Minimum Order Guard for merchants whose fulfillment economics break down on small orders, especially wholesale and distributor stores with different rules for different buyer tiers.
The app lets merchants set minimum order value (MOV), minimum order quantity (MOQ), or both by Shopify customer tag. Buyers see live progress in the cart, while a Shopify Checkout Validation Function enforces the rule server-side even if the cart UI is bypassed.
What it includes:
• Unlimited tag-based MOV and MOQ rules
• Different thresholds for wholesale, distributor, VIP, or all buyers
• Cart and cart-drawer progress messaging
• Server-side checkout enforcement with Shopify Functions
• First-order-only rules and custom error messages
• Interception analytics by tag, cart value, and quantity
The goal is to protect margins without surprising buyers at checkout.
I’d appreciate feedback on how you currently communicate minimums and which rule combinations matter most for your store.
Report
Does the checkout validation function actually work with Shop Pay and the one-page checkout, or does it only block on the cart step before they hit checkout?
