Mimic is an accent coach for people who already speak English and want to sound American or British. It plays a short line, you say it back, and a second later it tells you which sound gave you away and how to fix it. Ten minutes a day.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Sarthak, and I built Mimic on my own.
I've been tinkering with voice AI for a while, and it pulled me into phonetics. Every word you say breaks down into phonemes, the atomic units of sound. A lot of what we call an accent comes down to how you say a handful of them.
I'm Indian. We speak English every day, but we sound different from the rest of the world, and I never knew exactly why. Learning the phonetic alphabet answered it: a few specific sounds that we say our way. Once you can hear which ones, you can change them.
Try it yourself. Say "Park the car near the water" out loud. An American says the R in park and car, and the T in water comes out close to a D. A British speaker drops both Rs and keeps the T crisp. Most of us say it a third way.
Mimic is built on that:
Hear each line in an American or British voice
Say it back. Myna, the speech model inside the app, picks out every sound you made and spots the one that was off, in about a second
Get the fix in plain English, no phonetic symbols
140+ lessons per accent, from single sounds to reading whole passages
Scoring runs on your phone, so your recordings never leave it
A bit more about Myna, since it's the part I'm proudest of. I started with the small open speech models that fit on a phone. None of them could hear the difference between a crisp T and the soft D an American says in "water", and that difference is the whole point. So I trained my own, and kept training it: on British vowels, and on the small words people swallow in fast speech, like "and" said as "n". It now runs offline on the phone and scores a sentence in about a second, even on a budget Android.
The first module is free. After that, each accent is a one-time $24.99, no subscription.
Give it a go and tell me what you think, especially where it gets you wrong.
