Meridian turns every Chrome new tab into a beautiful, private world clock. See up to 10 time zones in one seamless day-to-night landscape, plan 48 hours ahead, and find shared availability. Free, offline, and yours—no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.
Hey Product Hunt. I'm Bill, an EP in production who spends half his life coordinating across timezones.
Years ago there was a Chrome extension called Figure It Out (FIO) that turned your new tab into something genuinely beautiful. Full-height color columns that shifted with the time of day in each zone. It won design awards (Kantar Information is Beautiful 2014, Pixel Awards 2015), then killed itself by forcing account creation and paywalling features.
The only replacement that exists (Figured) nails the utility but not the design. So I rebuilt the concept from scratch.
Meridian is:
- Full-height gradient columns that interpolate across 12 color bands at the minute level: deep navy at midnight, dawn violets, morning golds, midday cream, sunset coral, twilight purple
- Up to 10 timezones with autocomplete city search (155+ cities)
Zero accounts, zero backend, zero ads. Vanilla JS/HTML/CSS, sub-50KB, runs entirely in your browser
- Manifest V3 with only the storage permission
I built this because I wanted it to exist again. If you coordinate across timezones and care about what your new tab looks like, give it a shot.
