This launch tells one of the most interesting lessons I learned from the startup world.
In less than 1 year:
- we decided to build the desktop app V1
- developed it to a stable point
- realized the architecture was a poor choice and would have hindered us going forward
- rebuilt it from the ground up as V2
- launched a Windows and a MacOS version
This was about 10 months of work. From an idea to 2 generations of the same product.
In the AI space mistakes are welcome. What’s not acceptable is staying still, fall in love with your ideas and ignore the signals of the world.
Lesson learned. Product rebuilt.

Congratulations to the team on this one. It has been a long build, and it shows!
Most of the marketing calls we hold are internal, so having the notetaker bot in the room was honestly never a problem for us. Where the Desktop App is making a real difference is the ad hoc Slack huddles, whether or not we remember to record them.
We do a good job of keeping communication async, but sometimes a 15 or 20 minute huddle is simply the fastest way forward., and knowing the app captures those and feeds the outcomes straight into our other tools and workflows has been incredibly useful.

One thing I really like about the Desktop app is how it treats "meeting" broadly: Slack Huddles, WhatsApp calls, in-person chats, not just the calendar-scheduled Zoom/Meet/Teams calls a bot can join. So much useful context used to just disappear because nobody remembered to record a quick ad hoc huddle. Now it's all in the same searchable place as everything else. Congrats team 👏👏
