And the meetings that mattered most were often the unplanned ones — a hallway chat, a call that turned serious halfway through. So I built Meemo around one idea: no record button. You just leave it running, and it quietly turns everything — your video calls and the conversation happening in front of you — into searchable text. Nothing to remember, nothing to start. The other thing I cared about was privacy. Transcription runs locally on your Mac (Apple Silicon), so your conversations don't have to leave the machine. For summaries, corrections, and asking questions about what was said, you pick the engine — Apple's on-device model, a local OpenAI-compatible model, or Claude / Gemini / OpenAI with your own API key. You decide how much, if anything, goes to the cloud. It's a native macOS app with a free tier for recording and transcription.
