Mars Sandbox started as a fun experiment: what if I could build a little colony on Mars and then mess with it? Build Olympic City, change the time of day, throw dust storms, solar flares, meteorites and extreme cold at it, then try to recover. This is just V1. There’s a lot I want to improve, expand and polish from here. The goal is to slowly turn this little experiment into a beautiful, detailed Mars simulation.
What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?

What became practical with Astra was turning a visual concept into a working interactive product in one continuous workflow. I could start from a UI idea, iterate on the design, add simulation logic, refine interactions, fix issues, and keep the overall product direction consistent without constantly rebuilding context.
For Mars Sandbox, that meant going from static Mars visuals to a functional simulator with build modes, colony metrics, environmental events, recovery states, and multiple UI iterations. The biggest difference was speed and continuity: instead of treating design, coding, debugging, and product thinking as separate steps, Astra let me move between them fluidly and keep shipping the project forward.

I’ve been world-building Mars through AI images & videos for a while. Then I thought, why not make it interactive? That became Mars Sandbox, built with GPT-6 Astra. It’s a fun little experiment and this is just V1. Lots more to build and improve. Let’s see where Mars goes from here :)
