An anti-gambling financial narrative game inside a simulated desktop. Experience why investors chase rallies and panic-sell, and why expensive collectibles may have no buyers. Read group chats, old forum posts and news; trade fictional stocks and save your career locally. Special chapters draw on financial history. Built with GPT-6 Astra in Codex, with Claude and generated visuals. Chinese-language Windows prototype.

Astra in Codex helped me expand a command-line financial simulation into an atmospheric desktop game. I could direct a rainy Windows-like room, separate securities, chat, news, mail and calendar windows, and then iterate on real implementation rather than stop at concept art. Astra connected frontend actions to the existing backend, worked through account/session and save-resume issues, and helped integrate generated companion animations. That made room for a larger creative goal: an anti-gambling story about how social pressure, fear and illiquidity shape financial decisions. I supplied the direction and tested the experience throughout. Claude also contributed backend work and review, and image/video tools contributed assets. The submitted build is a Chinese-language Windows prototype with locally saved progress, not a claim that the entire project was made by one model.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Anna, the creator of Market Crisis.
I wanted a financial game where the market feels like a place you live in: rain outside the window, a message from a neighbor, an old forum post that suddenly matters, and a little companion reflecting your state of mind.
The game takes an anti-gambling perspective. Everyday play explores financial literacy and the psychology behind chasing rallies and panic-selling. Its collectibles market explores high quoted prices with no willing buyers. Special chapters draw on financial history, including the 2020 Yuan You Bao incident, through fictionalized scenarios rather than documentary reconstructions.
The desktop is the game world: trading, chat, news, mail, a calendar and your career record live in separate windows. All trades use fictional money, and progress saves locally.
GPT-6 Astra in Codex helped turn my direction into a working frontend and connect it to the simulation backend. Claude also contributed to backend work and review; generated images and local video generation helped create the atmosphere and companions.
This is a playable Chinese-language Windows prototype, not a finished commercial release. The public page provides an English introduction, real gameplay screenshots and a download with its runtime included.
I'd love feedback on whether the desktop storytelling makes market pressure feel human—and whether the first few minutes make you want to keep exploring.
