Hello All - I am Durga, Co-Founder & CTO of Macrometa. It is great to be here.
Macrometa Global Data Network (GDN) is an edge native platform to build Apps and APIs running closer to your users. Today most Apps and APIs run inside cloud hyper-scale data centers 1000s of miles from the users. This creates a significant amount of latencies in serving your users. There are multiple reasons to build Apps and APIs closer to your users. The most obvious reason is a significant reduction in latencies. The other reasons are the size of the data and privacy regulations like GDPR etc.
Current data platforms are cloud-native and designed with synchronous protocols to run within a data center. So they do not allow one to build rich stateful Apps and APIs running in 100s of locations around the globe closer to your users. Similarly, current data platforms are point services where one has to use one service (DB) to store and query data, another service to search for data, and yet another service to do event processing. This introduces data consistency problems between services, a significant amount of glue code, and wasted developer time.
We designed Macrometa GDN as a co-ordination free and converged data platform to address the above shortcomings. This allows our customers to quickly build rich global Apps and APIs and serve their users with ultra-low latencies.
You can verify the above by taking Macrometa GDN for a spin and let me know what you think. Also, suggestions for improvements in features, tutorials, or docs are highly welcome.
