Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built macMule because I grew up on eMule and wanted to see if it still worked. Spoiler: it does. The ed2k and Kad networks are still running, and there are files on them you won't find anywhere else. The problem was that eMule is Windows-only. So I packaged it with Wine Crossover into a self-contained macOS .app — no Terminal, no Homebrew, no config files. Just drag and go. Some context for those who weren't on the internet in 2003: eMule was THE way to share files. You'd queue a download, wait two days, and discover that "Lord_of_the_Rings_EXTENDED.avi" was... not Lord of the Rings. It was character-building stuff. The project is fully open source.
