I built this out of pure frustration with the current state of DJ library tools. Right now, if you want to find the true key of a track, you usually have to choose between two bad options: trusting the built-in analyzer in your DJ software (which often fails on complex melodies), or paying for an expensive subscription tool that forces you to upload your files to the cloud.
I just wanted a fast, highly accurate desktop app that runs locally and respects my privacy.
The main focus of Lowkey is the detection engine itself. It doesn't just guess the root key, it spots mid-song modulations and key changes so you never crash a transition on a big club system.
Because it runs 100% offline on your own machine, you can batch process massive crates without relying on an internet connection. Your unreleased tracks, promos, and custom edits stay completely private. Once it analyzes the audio, it writes the harmonic data and BPM right into the ID3 tags, so everything instantly populates the second you open Rekordbox, Serato, or Traktor.
Also, I am completely against the SaaS trend for basic utility tools. There are no subscriptions. You buy it once, and you own it.
