A sentence can sound convincing while its citation leaves an important question unanswered: does this study actually support what I wrote?
That is the writing problem we built LitSource around. You can start with a draft claim, look through candidate papers and available evidence snippets, and open the original sources. There is also a separate workflow for checking publication records and reference metadata before submission.
Here is a small example from our demo. A sentence about exercise and memory in aging populations returns a candidate paper whose title names mice. That detail matters. If the sentence is intended to describe people, the writer needs to check the population and evidence, then narrow the claim or keep looking.
The useful output is something concrete to inspect: a paper, a passage, and a link back to the source. The author still decides whether the citation belongs in the manuscript. Likewise, a reference that cannot be matched needs investigation; it is not automatically fabricated.
