Linguin translates 100+ languages using Gemini AI with context-awareness — natural output, not word-for-word swaps. Mac menu bar app, iPhone app, Chrome extension, Android app. Select any text, hit a shortcut, read the translation without leaving your current app. The Chrome sidebar translates foreign-language pages in place. Runs on gemini-2.5-flash-lite for sub-second latency (~500ms avg). No account, no subscription. Free tier: 3 translations/day.

Hey Product Hunt, the Supafast team here.
Linguin came out of a simple frustration. We needed translation that worked in three places at once, the browser, the Mac, the iPhone. Everything else either lived in a single tab or required three different subscriptions.
So we built one app that follows you across the screen. Highlight a paragraph in any browser, hit a shortcut, get a clean translation in a popup. The same shortcut on macOS works system wide, in Notes, Mail, Slack, anywhere text lives. The iPhone app handles photos, voice, and quick chat.
The translation engine is a layered setup. Multiple language models compete on each request, and the best result is selected based on context, idiom density, and target language. The output reads closer to a native speaker than a literal swap, especially on tricky pairs like Russian, Korean, Arabic.
We ship three platforms from one codebase, Tauri on desktop, Expo on mobile, a Chrome extension on top. All settings sync across devices through Supabase. Set source and target once, it works everywhere.
Document translation is up next, full PDF and DOCX with formatting preserved.
What translation problems do you still hit that no tool seems to solve?
