Everyone says what they saw from where they were standing, and exactly one of them is lying. The trick is that they all see differently: Dad sees along his row and column, the Kid is short so even tables block him, Grandma only sees two squares, Rex the dog goes by smell, and Fibs the cat only looks diagonally. You drag them around the room until the honest stories fit, and the one that never can is your liar.
