Explore a finite, deterministic Library of Babel containing every possible 3,200-character page exactly once. Search for any text, navigate through hexagonal rooms, shelves and books, and share the precise page where it appears. No AI generates the content and no pages are stored: a mathematical bijection gives each page a permanent address. The experience is free, requires no account, and is fully localized in 15 languages.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Library of Babel out of a fascination with Borges’s idea that a library containing every possible book would also contain every truth, every lie, and every sentence we could ever write.
This version is finite and deterministic. It contains every possible 3,200-character page over a 29-character alphabet exactly once. Nothing is generated by AI and no page is stored in a database: a mathematical bijection connects each page to a permanent room, wall, shelf, book, and page address.
You can search for a sentence, open the unique page containing it, explore neighboring books and rooms, and share your discovery with a dynamic social preview. The entire experience is available in 15 languages, free and without an account.
I’d love to know what phrase you searched for first—and whether the library feels more fascinating or unsettling to you.
