Privacy-first PDF toolkit. Smart Redact (auto-detect PII), Bates numbering, PDF→Markdown — all free, all in your browser. Plus AI Chat with page citations, Summarize, and Translate to 30+ languages. Files stay on your device for local actions. No ads, no upsells.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built letsgoPDF because every time I needed to merge two PDFs or
redact a confidential one, I ended up on iLovePDF or Smallpdf —
sites that upload my files to their servers, push ads, and try to
upsell me a Premium plan I don't want.
So I built the tool I actually wanted. Three things that make
letsgoPDF different:
🔒 Privacy by default. Merge, split, rotate, sign, redact, and
Bates numbering all run 100% in your browser via WebAssembly
(pdf-lib + pdf.js). Your file never leaves your device for these
actions. Most "PDF tools" sites upload everything; we don't.
🆓 Three free tools no other PDF site bundles:
• Smart Redact — auto-detects emails, phones, SSNs, credit cards
(Luhn-validated), IBANs, dates. One-click black-out. Document
metadata stripped too. iLovePDF only has manual redact.
• Bates numbering — sequential page labels (ABC0001…) for legal
discovery. Standard in every law firm, missing from every PDF
site I checked.
• PDF → Markdown — clean export with headings, lists, tables for
Notion / Obsidian / GitHub. Existing tools give you Word.
⭐ AI tools (Pro, $5/mo) — Chat with PDF with page-cited answers,
Summarize, Translate to 30+ languages. Built on Claude Haiku 4.5
with prompt caching so follow-up questions on the same doc cost
~10% of the first. Side-by-side preview pane with click-to-jump
citations.
Free tier covers everything that runs locally + 10 cloud
conversions a month. No signup needed for any of it.
Stack: React + Vite + Supabase + Paddle + Anthropic + Vercel.
There's a Chrome side-panel extension too (same client-side tools,
JWT handshake to recognize Pro tier across both).
Genuinely curious what would make this stickier for your workflow
— what's the missing tool that would make you switch from
iLovePDF? Thanks for taking a look 🙏
