Before upgrading iCloud storage, find large photos and videos in Photos and compress supported items on your Mac. Smaller replacements may help you avoid an upgrade; Lens does not change your iCloud plan. Also record walkthroughs, trim clips and share smaller videos. Recording and compression run locally. Start with 5 free credits, no Lens account required; paid packs or an optional subscription follow. Requires macOS 14.6+.

Hi, I'm the maker of Lens Pro. Alongside screen recording, Lens helps with another familiar problem: a Photos library filling up iCloud storage.
Before paying for more storage, you can find large photos and videos, compare available sizes and compress supported items on your Mac. After confirmation, Lens saves smaller replacements in Photos and deletes the selected originals; changes sync through iCloud Photos when enabled. Live Photos, paired resources and animated images are left unchanged. Photos manages recovery in Recently Deleted.
Reducing storage may help you avoid an upgrade or fit a smaller plan. Results depend on your media, settings and total iCloud usage; compression can affect quality. Lens does not change your iCloud subscription.
For walkthroughs, record your screen, trim the useful section and make a smaller file to share. The existing demo shows this workflow: its trimmed sample went from 1.2 MB to 502 KB (57.8% smaller). That is a video-file result, not a measured iCloud storage reduction.
Start with 5 free credits, with no purchase or Lens account required. A successful recording costs 1 credit including automatic compression. Compressing an existing video or a supported Photos item costs 1 credit only when a smaller result is saved. Paid credit packs and an optional subscription follow. Recording and compression run locally on Mac; macOS 14.6+ is required.
Which is more useful to you: finding large Photos items or making walkthroughs easier to share? I'd welcome feedback on either workflow.
