Layers is a daily word game that combines four mini-puzzles with one final challenge. Solve LetterLock, an anagram, a crossword, and a word search to reveal four words. Then use those words as clues to sort a 16-word board into four hidden groups. Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, with streaks, stats, hints, archives, and spoiler-free sharing.
The LetterLock mechanic is such a clever way to start the puzzle chain since it forces you into the right mindset before the word search even loads. The four-to-sort finale ties the whole thing together really neatly.
The LetterLock mechanic feeding directly into the final sort is such a clean loop. Feels like the team really thought about how each piece should pay off the others instead of just stacking four random games.
The four-then-sort twist is genuinely clever, it feels like the puzzles are building toward something instead of just being stacked together. LetterLock is a nice warmup for the bigger board at the end.
The four-mini-puzzle setup before the final grouping challenge is a clever twist, it feels like you're earning the bigger solve. Took me a few minutes longer than expected, but that final "oh I see it" moment is genuinely satisfying.
