Hey Product Hunt 👋
Ever spent an evening hunting for a local PHP setup, only to find an "Upgrade to Pro" button waiting at the end? That was me, again and again.
I'm Shivam, and I built lampRabit because I couldn't find a local PHP environment that was both fully free and fully flexible. XAMPP is behind on versions and has no per-site PHP. Laragon, MAMP and Herd lock some of the good features behind a paid plan. LocalWP is WordPress only.
So lampRabit gives you, for free:
• PHP 8.1 to 8.5 installed side by side, and each site picks its own
• Apache and Nginx at the same time, chosen per site
• Automatic https://yourapp.test domains with trusted certificates
• One-click installs and updates for Apache, Nginx, PHP, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin, Redis and more (verified against official checksums)
• New Laravel, Symfony or WordPress projects with the database already wired up
• Node.js through NVM, Mailpit for catching emails, and public sharing through Cloudflare Tunnel or ngrok
• Health checks, live logs and a diagnostics report when something breaks
Windows is fully supported today. macOS and Linux run in preview, and native Apache/PHP downloads for them are what I'm working on next.
It's MIT licensed and built with Tauri + React. I'd love your honest feedback: what's the one thing that would make you switch from your current setup?
