Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on KolatBooks, an Android app for small shop owners and traders in Sierra Leone. It’s now live on Google Play.
The problem: Most small businesses here track sales in notebooks or in their heads. They don’t know who owes them money, what’s running low, or whether they made a profit last month. Existing accounting tools assume reliable internet, a laptop, and an accounting background, and that’s often not the reality.
What it does:
Record sales in seconds by searching products or scanning a barcode. Sales can be paid in full, part paid, or on credit, and the balance becomes an invoice automatically.
Works fully offline. Sales and expenses sync when the network returns, and never twice.
Handles cash, mobile money, bank transfer and card, each going to the right account
Invoices and receipts shared as PDFs over WhatsApp, plus a view of who owes you and for how long
Stock tracking with reorder alerts, purchase orders and supplier payments
Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and ledger built from what you record
Staff logins where employees can sell but can’t see costs, bank balances or reports
Why these choices: I made offline-first the core design because network drops shouldn’t stop someone from making a sale. WhatsApp sharing is there because that’s how people here already send invoices and chase payments.
It’s free to start. The latest update added fingerprint/face unlock and in-app plan payment.

I’d really like feedback on:
The onboarding and first-sale experience
Anything that feels confusing or missing for a small shop owner
Offline sync, if anyone wants to stress-test it
