Local AI photo editor: pull watermarks off, click out unwanted objects, cut backgrounds, sharpen and restore old photos, and move text already baked into an image. It runs on your machine - no uploads, no per-image credits, works offline once models download. Built on the open-source IOPaint (Apache-2.0), plus a hardware-aware launcher, folder batch, size presets and a one-time license. Windows/macOS. Hi Product Hunt — I'm Noah, I built Klaruvo.
What it is: an AI photo editor that runs entirely on your computer. You paint over a watermark, click an object you don't want, or ask it to carry a line of text that's already printed into an image to somewhere else — and it does that locally, then heals the spot it left. After the models download once, it works with the network off.
Full disclosure up front: Klaruvo is built on top of the open-source IOPaint project (Apache-2.0). The models and the core inpainting pipeline are theirs. What we built is the part that makes it usable if you don't live in a terminal: a launcher that checks your RAM/GPU and picks a config for you, multi-source model downloads with resume (this matters a lot on CN networks), whole-folder batch processing, ID-photo and platform-cover size presets, the text-move editor, and a simple one-time license instead of a subscription.
Who it's for: e-commerce sellers cleaning supplier photos, creators making covers, anyone with a damaged family photo, and people who don't want to upload their pictures to a random website to remove a watermark.
Pricing: the paint-over erase tool is free forever, no account needed. Paid tiers are one-time purchases — no subscription, free upgrades:
- Basic $4.95 — watermark and object erase, click-to-remove (SAM), background cutout, 2x/4x upscale, ID-photo colours and sizes, text watermark, 9-grid crop, and the text-move editor. English/Chinese UI.
- Flagship $14.95 — everything in Basic, plus cover assistant (8 platform presets + multi-size zip), face restore on old photos (GFPGAN), black-and-white photo colouring, product-shot background swap, and one-click old-photo restore.
- Advanced $29.95 — everything in Flagship, plus batch processing across a whole folder, up to 200 images per run.

What I'd genuinely like feedback on:
1. Does "local-first" still read as a real reason to switch, or does it sound like marketing?
2. Which of these is the one job people would actually pay for first — watermark removal, batch processing, or the text-move editor?
3. What's blocking you from trusting a closed-source fork of an open-source tool? I'll answer honestly, including how the license check works.
I'll be in the comments all day (PT). Happy to answer anything, including the parts that are hard.
