JyotishHub is a free Vedic astrology toolkit — Kundli chart generator, daily Rashifal, numerology, and compatibility matching. No login, no paywall. What's different: instead of wrapping a third-party API, I built the calculation engine myself in TypeScript using astronomy-engine — real sidereal positions, ascendant via spherical trig, Vimshottari Dasha, and yoga detection that follows the classical rules precisely (e.g. Gaja-Kesari checked from Moon, not Lagna, unlike many calculators).

Hey everyone 👋 I built JyotishHub solo as a side project — I'm a Next.js dev, not an astrologer, and I wanted to see how far I could get building real Vedic astrology calculations myself instead of just wrapping an existing API. Under the hood it uses astronomy-engine for the astronomical positions, then applies Lahiri ayanamsa to convert to sidereal, computes the ascendant with actual spherical trigonometry, and runs Vimshottari Dasha + yoga detection using the classical rules (wrote up some of the details here if anyone's curious: [link to your dev.to post]). Everything's free, no login required. Would love feedback — especially from anyone who knows Jyotish well and wants to sanity-check the outputs, or devs curious about the astronomical calculation side.
