You've pasted aenv into a Slack, DM to unblock a teammate, and it's still sitting there. Secrets managers usually fix this with a whole platform: a CLI, accounts, sync engines, infra to run. justenv is lighter. A native Mac app that encrypts yourenv on-device and shares it with links that expire or burn after one open. No CLI. No account needed to receive. Keep prod, staging and preview separate. Free for solo devs.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Fora, the maker behind justenv.
I built it because sharing secrets between devs is still broken — we paste .env files into Slack and DMs, they never get deleted, and nothing gets rotated. I wanted a way to hand off a .env that doesn't leave a trail.
With justenv your values are encrypted on your own device before they ever leave it (we never see plaintext), and you share them with links that expire or burn after read. Whoever receives them needs no account.
It's a native Mac app, in beta, and free for solo devs. I'd love your feedback — what's missing, what would make you actually switch? It all lands straight in my inbox. 🙏
