Jotura is a fast, private notes app for Mac, Windows, Linux and Android. There's no Markdown to learn: select text to format it, and type / for tables, checklists and headings. Your notes stay plain files you own. Sync is end-to-end encrypted with three years of history, you can share a note or a folder with anyone as editor or viewer, and the Android app reads your books and saves your highlights as notes. It also works with your AI tools. The app is free. Sync is £4 a month.

Thanks for checking out Jotura. This is a passion project and I am trying to build the best notes / productivity application. I'm building it how I enjoy using it everyday.

What I love about it:

CLI for AI agents means all of your agent chats and history is stored as memory in Jotura.
Extremely fast. Searching is fast, typing is fast. The app is built in Rust, and performance is key
You don't need to type Markdown. This is especially great for tables, task lists etc
Syncs between all devices. Not just notes, any files (upto 95MB) will sync right alongside your notes
Semantic search across all notes. Jotura converts documents automatically, so anything is findable in your vault
