Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker of Job Counselor. I've spent 18 years in art direction and photography, and a fair share of that looking for the next role. The pattern that wore me down was always the same: a company takes six weeks, four rounds, and an unpaid "small test task" to decide about you, and you never once get to decide about them in a structured way. So I built the other side of the interview. Job Counselor walks you through three audits: • The job ad, before you apply (no salary, vague role, "we're a family") • The hiring process, as it happens (unpaid tasks, ghosting, questions they shouldn't ask) • The offer, before you sign (probation, non-compete, what changed since the ad) What makes it different: warnings only fire when the company's behaviour meets something you told the app about yourself. If unpaid tasks are on your dealbreaker list, you get a hard stop. If they're not, you don't get nagged. Sixteen answers are an automatic 100, because some things are not a matter of degree: bank details before a contract, paying for your own equipment, a whole process run over WhatsApp. There's also a fourth audit for people already in a job, asking the harder question: is it still worth staying? On privacy, since I know this crowd asks: no account, no sign-in, no ads, no third-party SDKs. Your companies, notes, and profile stay on your phone. The only thing that ever leaves it is an anonymous count of which answers were chosen, so the app can one day tell you "38% of people saw the same thing". Never a name, never a company. Pricing: your first company is free, end-to-end. One payment unlocks the rest. No subscription, because a job hunt is episodic and a monthly bill for it felt wrong.
