Hey everyone, maker here. I built JMacy because downloading big files on a Mac still feels like 2010. Browser downloads run on a single connection, they die on flaky Wi-Fi, and they quietly restart from zero. I wanted something that treats a 40GB file as a normal Tuesday. So JMacy splits every download into up to 16 parallel connections with dynamic re-splitting, so one slow chunk never holds the rest hostage. On rate-limited servers that has been up to 15x faster than a single connection, and roughly 2x faster than JDownloader's defaults in my testing. Pause and resume survive crashes and reboots, and finished files get SHA-256 verified. The part I am happiest with is browser capture. Install the companion extension and downloads from Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, Vivaldi or Safari hand off to JMacy with cookies and referrer intact, so logged-in downloads just work. Everything stays on your Mac, nothing is sent to a server of mine. Torrents are built in too. It is a native Mac app, not an Electron wrapper.
