Japan Geography Master（日本地理マスター） is an educational app for elementary school students in Japan. Its main feature is a set of tappable interactive maps built with GeoJSON, helping children connect place names with real locations and geographic features. It also includes over 1,500 flashcards and 1,800 quizzes covering prefectures, mountains, rivers, plains, climate, agriculture, fisheries, and more. It supports school learning and junior high school entrance exam preparation. Japanese only.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I created Japan Geography Master because many children learn Japanese geography by memorizing names from textbooks without fully connecting them to actual locations on a map. I wanted to make geography more visual and interactive, so the app uses tappable maps built with GeoJSON. Children can explore prefectures, mountains, rivers, plains, climate, agriculture, fisheries, and more, then reinforce what they have learned through over 1,500 flashcards and 1,800 quizzes. The app is designed for elementary school learning and junior high school entrance exam preparation in Japan. It is currently available in Japanese only. If the concept resonates with learners and parents, I would also love to explore versions for other countries, as well as a global geography edition using an interactive world map. This looks really solid for kids studying geography. One thing that would help a lot, honestly, is adding audio pronunciation for all those place names and geographic terms. Japanese kids could hear how to say them correctly, and it would also make the app way more useful for younger learners or anyone struggling with reading kanji. A simple tap-to-hear button on each location would do the trick.

Tapping through the prefectures map made me actually remember where Shimane is, which never stuck from textbooks. Solid study tool for kids prepping for entrance exams.
