Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm the founder of JamFan. My music teachers always told me I'd meet my band in pubs or just out in the world - real life, especially since Covid, had other ideas. The tools musicians actually use to find each other are Craigslist, half-dead Facebook groups and luck. I wanted the thing I kept wishing existed: open an app, see who plays near you, hear them play, say hi. So I built it. What makes it built for musicians: - You're matched by instrument, genre, skill level and intent (casual Sunday jam → serious band with gigs booked), within a travel radius you set. Matching is embedding-based, not keyword filters - a shoegaze guitarist and a post-punk drummer will find each other. - Profiles play: every card has a 60-second video showcase and a 30-second audio demo, so you hear people before you match. - One account, multiple musician identities - the wedding pianist and the doom-metal bassist can both be you. - After matching: real-time chat (reactions, voice notes, groups) and a feed for your local scene. It's free, on iOS, Android and web. Honest caveat: this is a density product - it's only as good as the musicians near you, and coverage varies by city right now. That's the problem I'm working on, so I'd especially love to hear: if you play an instrument, what would make you trust an app enough to meet a stranger and play?
