Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built jalali-js because every time I needed to work with Jalali dates in JavaScript, I'd either find libraries that haven't been touched since 2015 or spend a day rolling my own conversions and praying the leap-year math was right.
The core problem: Jalali calendars are genuinely complex (the leap-year rules are wild), validation is hard, and most libs were built before TypeScript or modern frameworks existed.
So jalali-js:
Validates against Node's own ICU calendar across thousands of years (zero mismatches)
Works with React, Vue, or just vanilla JS
Returns Gregorian by default (the sane default) – opt into Jalali storage when you actually need it
Comes with a working DatePicker, or build your own with headless primitives
It's one of those "solves a specific problem very well" libraries – built for anyone shipping to users in Iran or serving Jalali-calendar markets.
Love to hear: are you already wrestling with Jalali date handling? What's the pain point?
