Some memories are easier to describe with a song than a caption. A track from a trip, a book connected to a cafe, or a small note from an ordinary walk can carry the feeling of a place.
I'm Alperen, co-founder of iz, building with Tuna in Istanbul. In iz, you can leave a photo postcard, note, song or book memory where you are, then revisit those traces on a map. Keep them private or share them; collections can bring moments from the same walk or trip together.
Here's a small way to try it: on your next walk, save one moment at a place that matters to you. It doesn't need to be a landmark. Then come back to that trace later and see whether the place helps the memory feel different from a camera-roll photo.
What would you save first: a photo, a song, a note or a book memory? I'd love feedback on what would make you return to it.
hi Product Hunt! i’m Alperen, co-founder of iz, building it with Tuna.
we started with a simple question: what if a place could hold the memories people leave behind? iz is a social map for photo postcards, notes, songs, book memories and feelings. keep your traces private or share them for others to discover.
you can now explore public traces on the web before downloading the app. collections bring moments from a walk, trip or ordinary day together into a shareable memory trail. here is a real father–son day in Istanbul: https://iz.city/en/r/baba-ogul-gunu
if someone’s trace resonates with you, send a message request. a private conversation starts only when the other person accepts.
iz is available on iOS and Android, free to download with optional in-app purchases. what would you leave as your first trace, and what would make you return to it?
