I'd completely forgotten the insurance premium, the service in spring, and the two tyres in November. When I finally added a year up in a spreadsheet: €3,885. That number annoyed me enough to build something. IyalGarage logs every fuel stop, premium, tax bill and repair — then projects your year-end total from month one, so December stops being an ambush. It also gives you your real cost per kilometre, and flags when consumption starts creeping up (usually a service waiting to happen). The part I care most about: it's completely offline. No account, no sign-up, no cloud, no telemetry. Where you drive and what you spend is nobody's business but yours — so the app simply never sends it anywhere. It's free, with an optional one-time Pro unlock. I'm not putting your car costs behind a monthly fee.
