What inspired this:
I've managed releases for independent artists and watched the same chaos repeat: links die in bios months after launch, presave tools vanish after release day, and nobody tells you the click never reached the music. Every existing tool solves one slice — but none were built for the actual release lifecycle.
The problem I was solving:
Music is done. Now you're managing a chain of broken tools: presave here, listening page there, link aggregators that don't know what a release looks like, trackers sitting between clicks and music. And the silent failures - the link that quietly breaks two months later, the redirects adding latency, the data leaking to intermediaries.
Most "artist tools" are SaaS designed to extract value: fake free tiers that lock you out, dark patterns pushing upgrades, fees that scale when you're trying to break even. I built the opposite.
How the approach evolved:
I started by building a link scanner (the linkrot tool) just to diagnose the problem - put your instagram handle in, it scans links across all social accounts to see if what's actually alive and where the clicks actually go. Then I realised that was treating symptoms, not the disease. So I expanded it: one permanent release page that starts as presave, becomes listening day when music goes live, stays the same URL forever. Same public page captures fan emails you actually own. Private promo links show you who opened, who listened, how much. And the scanner keeps running, flagging what's broken before your fans hit dead links.
Design built for reality:
Simple pricing. $39 one-time for a single release, $19/month for unlimited. No freemium bait. No surprise tier jumps when you hit success. No retargeting pixels. Your fan data doesn't get sold or tracked. The links you create don't have intermediaries skimming clicks.
It's live: itsout.now
Built for the midnight check. Built for the actual moment. Built by someone who's been through the release grind, not a startup optimising for Series A metrics.
Curious what I'm missing from the independent artist's perspective - what would make this actually useful to you?
