What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?

With Astra, the IPPT Calculator can now handle real-time, per-keystroke score computation across all fourteen SAF age bands and both male/female scoring tables — something that used to require hardcoding dozens of static lookup tables. Astra's reasoning let us build the "Reverse Target My Goal" feature, where a user enters any two stations and the tool instantly works backward to calculate the minimum required in the third station to hit Pass, Silver, or Gold. Previously, this kind of dynamic, bidirectional calculation across multiple age-based scoring matrices would have needed significant custom logic and testing for every edge case. Astra also made it practical to keep the entire experience local-first (no login, no data upload) while still delivering instant, accurate results, something that's hard to pull off without a capable model handling the scoring logic on the fly.

I built this calculator because it was hard to find accurate, updated scoring tables online for people prepping for IPPT in Singapore most tools were using outdated standards. This calculator follows the official IPPT standards, gives age-band specific scoring, and comes with a target planner that shows you what to improve for your next attempt.
