Interlinea turns every paper into a workspace: read, ask, annotate, revisit, and collaborate—all in one place.
Would love to see a way to export annotated sections directly into BibTeX or a reference manager, since a lot of my highlights end up tied to specific citations. Right now I have to copy quotes and then manually match them to my library.
@avcarnecde70934 Thanks, this is a great suggestion. We agree that annotations should not be isolated from the rest of a researcher’s workflow.
We’re adding reference-manager interoperability to our roadmap, starting with the ability to preserve stable paper metadata such as DOI, arXiv ID, and citation keys alongside exported highlights and notes. From there, we’d like Interlinea to work more naturally with tools like Zotero, so annotations can stay connected to the corresponding item in your existing library rather than requiring manual citation matching.
We’d love your input on the ideal workflow: would you prefer Interlinea annotations to appear as notes under the matching Zotero item, or an export file that your reference manager can import? Which tool do you use today?

Interlinea is still early. It started as a tool I built for myself: a place to keep up with new research, read papers in my own language, and keep the notes and references from gradually slipping into separate piles.
It is now becoming a platform, but today it is still primarily a self-contained research workspace: upload a paper, translate it, read closely, ask questions, annotate, and keep everything attached to the paper.
The longer-term goal is a more complete loop: translate → read → discuss → write. Interlinea should also fit into, rather than replace, the tools researchers already rely on. That means connecting with desktop knowledge bases and reference managers, so your reading and annotations can move naturally through the rest of your research workflow.
The fact that formulas and layout survive the translation is such a thoughtful detail, most tools flatten those instantly.
