I built ImageFry after filling out one too many government forms that demanded a photo "under 240 KB, minimum 20 KB." Every online compressor I tried worked backwards — pick a quality slider, upload, get whatever size comes out, retry.
ImageFry inverts it: you state the requirement, and it searches quality levels and dimensions on your own device until the output genuinely fits. The spec-check stamp only turns green when the file actually passes.
Everything runs in the browser via WASM — no server, no upload, no account. That matters for ID photos and signatures, and it's why it can stay free.
Happy to answer anything about the compression search or the privacy model. If a specific form spec doesn't work, tell me and I'll add a preset for it.
