Youtube ads have been annoying users basically forever. That is why adblockers have emerged to stop this. Unfortunately, they are not very reliable. Whenever Youtube pushes a new change, the filter lists, which the adblocker uses to block certain elements, get outdated. This results in the video showing the popup that ads are not allowed, buffering (taking a long time to play), or similar. I have to make a always wanted to make a solution, as it annoys me so much as well. That is why I looked at an alternative approach, and created a browser extension called IframeTube. It takes a completely unique approach by using the embedded version of the player, which is completely free. It unfortunately does not have all the features, but luckily, I have put a lot work into this, so I remade them all :). This also effectively returns the old player UI, which the major of people prefer. There are also additional options I have included, such as auto setting the video quality to your preferred one for each video, and not letting Youtube auto change it. It can also hide some annoying shorts elements too. I hope you will enjoy this project :).
