Huexly is a menu-bar color picker for macOS and Windows. 60 Hz loupe with 3x-58x zoom, WCAG 2.2 and APCA contrast checking, CVD simulation for three deficiency types, and export to 12 formats including CSS variables, Tailwind, and ASE. Perpetual license.
Hey everyone, I built Huexly because picking a colour, checking its contrast, and getting it into code kept requiring three separate apps.
What shipped in this first public release:
- Loupe with pixel-accurate 3x-58x zoom, rendered on a 140px canvas at 60 Hz using ScreenCaptureKit on macOS and DXGI Desktop Duplication on Windows.
- WCAG 2.2 and APCA 0.0.98G contrast checking in the same panel. Big ratio display with AA and AAA per-size badges, a fix button that adjusts the foreground to meet your target, and an NxN matrix across a full palette.
- Drag-to-scoop region palette extraction from the loupe.
- Customisable global hotkey, named palette management, recent-10 history in the tray.
I would genuinely like honest feedback, particularly on the loupe at different DPI configurations and whether the contrast panel gives you what you need at a glance.
