First reduced-to-practice on graph paper when I was 20 something, I'm 70. Based on the work of Sebastian Truchet 1722, All permutations of Half Square Triangles (HST) Browser and create 1000s of HST Quilt block tessellations. Symmetric geometrics. Truchetís idea is simple, but its suggestive power and hidden possibilities for generalization are immense. The Truchet tile is a square tile with a simple diagonal two-colour decoration. In a tiling of the plane by Truchet tiles, each tile can be placed in four possible orientations. 2x2: 4x4x4x4 = 256 Enjoy
