Hey Product Hunt! I'm Mike — I make these kinds of tools professionally for companies, and HomeCenter is the one I built for myself. I was using LubeLogger for a while but it felt unpolished, and I wanted it to cover more than vehicles — so I created HomeCenter. It's a self-hosted tracker for everything you maintain: houses, vehicles, appliances, and optionally your family's health records. Each service record carries a cost, and logging one rolls the next reminder forward, whether it's set by date or mileage. Warranty status at a glance, spending by asset and vendor, per-user email digests. Search covers the text inside uploaded manuals and receipts — OCR and search-by-meaning run on your server, nothing leaves the box. There's an optional AI assistant that works with Ollama, LM Studio or any OpenAI-compatible API. One container, one data folder. Save the compose file, set AUTH_SECRET, `docker compose up -d`, and it's on port 3000. Backups are just copying the data folder. MIT licensed, free, no accounts, no cloud, no subscription. I leveraged Claude Code extensively to build and iterate on it. Would love feedback from fellow self-hosters — especially on the backup story and anything that breaks on your hardware.
