Every social network makes the same two lies: "your data is private" and "the algorithm just works." We got tired of both. The problem: signing up for a social platform shouldn't require a phone number, a face scan, or an ID - and the feed shouldn't be a black box with knobs you can never touch. So we built hoggiter: register with a username and password, and the For You algorithm ships with actual settings - freshness window, how much people you follow lift posts, how much the social graph moves things for you. The approach evolved a lot. We started with a simple feed and a joke ToS written by pigs. Then came dual-media posts with a magic-wand reveal, debates and polls, and a creator marketplace that pays wallet-to-wallet over BTCPay - we never touch the money. We moved the database off the app server so nobody can lose the community's history by rage-terminating a VPS. And we wrote the privacy policy the way people actually read: short, honest, funny.
