Never lose a save again. Hoard syncs your saves across your devices with versioned and verified snapshots — roll back to any point in history. Self-host the whole thing WITHOUT account, or use our EU cloud.
Hey Product Hunt! Hoard dev here.
Hoard was born from a dead save file: 200 hours into an RPG, a sync service quietly overwrote the good version with a corrupted one. No warning, no undo. The lesson stuck: sync is not backup.
Hoard is Open-Source and Free, Hoard-Cloud gives u 2gb free, enought to all players, but if you have a large library you can need go to pro or Self-Host with your own server with 0 account and 0 telemetry.
Hoard treats saves like what they are — irreplaceable:
- Detects 20,000+ games automatically — and not on one trick. The Ludusavi manifest is the foundation (excellent project, credit where due); on top of it, Hoard runs its own stack: Steam libraries and Proton/Wine prefixes, live processes, filesystem heuristics, presets for 20+ emulators, and whatever folder you point at by hand. Zero config.
- Snapshots after every session — deduplicated by content hash, so keeping every version costs barely more than keeping one.
- Every file SHA-256-hashed on upload and re-verified on restore — corruption gets caught before it replaces your good save. Nothing is ever silently overwritten.
- Roll back to any point in history — whole save or a single file.
"Why a server? Can't devices just talk to each other?"
Across the internet, P2P tools need a rendezvous relay — and some of those tools' own FAQs admit the relay operator can read what passes through it. Hoard offers a different deal: run the entire server yourself — no account, your disk or any S3-compatible bucket, and nothing ever leaves your hardware. Don't want to run anything? Our cloud runs in the EU under GDPR, and telemetry is anonymous with an off switch right in settings.
Also on board:
- Windows, Linux, macOS, Steam Deck — one-click install, signed in-app updates.
- Live presence — see which of your machines are online right now and what each one is playing.
- Ships in 8 languages, AGPL-licensed, fully open source.
Ask me anything about the sync engine, self-hosting, or the rollback path. And if you try it and something breaks, tell me in github issue or in the discord server, you can get the discord server into desktop app o in the hoard web.
