My eldest daughter works at a local pub. The staff rota was a mess - shifts booked during pre-booked holidays, inconsistent shift patterns and hours, staff missed off the rota, one scheduling issue after another... I decided I could build something to help. Keep it cheap, keep it simple, make it available on desktop and mobile, allow for multiple locations, support different organisations through tenanted architecture, include GPS and QR code clock ins & outs... What started as an exploratory, playful project to help a local business, turned in to a powerful shift management tool, including holiday management, recurring shift patters, staffing analysis and wellbeing alerts. It's still a work in progress, but even the free tier "Starter" subscription will prove useful to many small businesses out there.
