A neighbor tested this out with a found dog and it worked, but it would be even better if the tag had a small ID or batch number so you can flag a specific tag as lost or inactive in case it gets damaged or you no longer want people reaching out.
Scanned the tag on my dog's collar and got a message back within a minute from a neighbor who found him. Love that my number stayed hidden the whole time.
