Hi Product Hunt! I’m Aliyu, the maker of Health Risk Map Nigeria. The inspiration for this project came from a simple but painful question: Why do people still travel from one hospital to another during emergencies without knowing which hospital can actually help them? In many parts of Nigeria, patients often arrive at a hospital only to discover there are no available beds, emergency services are overwhelmed, or they’re referred elsewhere. Every unnecessary trip can mean more time, more cost, and sometimes worse health outcomes. I wanted to build something that helps people make better decisions before they leave home. Health Risk Map Nigeria combines healthcare facility mapping with community-powered reporting so users can: * 🏥 Find nearby hospitals automatically * 🛏️ View community-reported bed availability * 🚨 Check emergency service availability * ⏱️ See estimated waiting times * 📍 Navigate directly to the most suitable facility * 🤝 Help others by submitting reports and earning rewards We’re also building a simple dashboard that allows hospitals to update their own emergency availability when they choose to participate. This is still an early-stage project, and I’m launching here because I genuinely want feedback from the Product Hunt community. One thing that would make this so much more useful is offline access for areas with poor internet. Being able to download a state's hospital directory and emergency numbers before traveling could literally save lives when there's no signal.
